A pocket-size edition of the popular devotional by the Catholic theologian and bishop of Regensburg, Sailer (1751-1832), first published as "Vollständiges Lese- und Gebetbuch" in 1783, "which made him world-famous" (cf. LThK). The frontispiece shows the crucified Christ. Includes prayers, chants and a litany, all listed in an index at the back. - Binding a little worn, especially at the spine. Paper variously browned and brownstained. From the library of the Viennese collector Werner Habel, with his signed and stamped ownership to front pastedown. - Cf. Kayser V, 8.
