Acquaforte, 1879, firmata in lastra con i dettaglii di produzione: 'L. Bonnat pinx. - P. Rajon sc.", "Imp. E. Delarue, Paris", titolo e "L'Art". Inciso sopra l'immagine: "Salon de 1879". L'incisione è tratta da un dipinto di Leon Bonnat, dello stesso anno 1879, conservato al Musée national du Château de Versailles. Con linee dense e sfumate Rajon ha creato un ritratto cupo e sobrio dello scrittore francese Victor Hugo. Paul Adolphe Rajon (1843-1888) è stato un fotografo, pittore e incisore francese. È noto per i suoi ritratti di importanti personaggi contemporanei, tra cui: Charles Darwin, Tennyson, Turgenev, ecc. The etching is after a painting by Leon Bonnat. Paul Adolphe Rajon (1843-1888) was a French photographer, painter, and printmaker.
