A LIBRI ANTICHI
I libri, da sempre sia strumenti di lettura che fonti di un appassionato collezionismo, si possono a grandi linee dividere in due categorie: i libri antichi o rari e il cosiddetto “modernariato”.
La linea di confine, tra i due, tradizionalmente è posta all’anno 1830.
Fino a quella data l’oggetto libro era soprattutto un oggetto artigianale, con tutti i pregi e i difetti che ne conseguono, e tutte le parti costitutive di un libro (dalla confezione della carta alla legatura) erano essenzialmente processi manuali.
Questo spiega anche perché, fino agli inizi del XIX secolo, la tiratura è stata mediamente di circa 300 copie per ogni tiratura.
Sia per i libri rari che per il modernariato però riteniamo comunque fondamentale che il venditore sia un libraio professionale e questo fin dalla nascita del sito Maremagnum.com, nel 1995.
