A letter to a Plouvier (not the librettist douard Plouvier, 1820-76) can be dated after 1879, as Membr e mentions a performance of his opera "La Courte chelle" that had premiered on 10 March 1879 at the Op ra-Comique: "Merci, mon cher Plouvier, pour votre affectueux souvenir auquel j'ai t tr s sensible. Je compte vous faire tous mes compliments la premi re fois que je vous verrai, en m me temps que je vous dirai tous nos regrets de ne vous avoir pas vu le jour de la Courte- chelle. Oh ! mais . Je vais me mettre faire des vers, moi ! Il n'est pas trop tard !".
