Following on from the 5 volume catalogue raisonné compiled by David Sylvester between 1992-1997, this catalogue raisonne documents over 130 previously unattributed works that appeared on the art market, purporting to be by Magritte, after the culminating volume had been published. These works were gradually authenticated between September 2000 and March 2010 by a committee set up by the Fondation Magritte, along with those previously recorded with location 'unknown' or listed as appendix items in the original catalogue raisonné. They are catalogued here, alongside text detailing the conditions of their discovery.
