L'Italia entro' nella Seconda Guerra Mondiale il 10 giugno del 1940 e ne uscì il 25 aprile del 1945 (70 anni da oggi, aprile 2105)
Durante la guerra moltissime furono le pubblicazioni, soprattutto di propaganda.
E' stato pero' in special modo dopo la fine della guerra che, finita la censura, vennero pubblicati moltissimi libri e periodici relativi alla seconda guerra mondiale, sia di carattere storico che biografico.
Fra le più importanti opere possiamo citare "La seconda guerra mondiale" (The Second World War), di Winston Churchill, pubblicata nel 1948-1954.
Per quest'opera l'autore ottenne nel 1953 il Premio Nobel per la letteratura.
