Prima edizione. Testo inglese. Cm.20,4x13,1. Pg.232. Esemplare privo di coperta. Primi due quaderni staccati. "Francis Plowden (Shropshire, 1749-1829) first major work, "Jura Anglorum: the Rights of Englishmen; being an Historical and legal Defence of the present Costitution", appeared in 1792, is a conservative formulation of natural rights and contract theory. It was attacked in a pamphlet by his brother Robert Plowden, a priest under the title of "A Roman Catholic Clergyman". The book was so highly thought of that the University of Oxford presented him with the honorary degree of D.C.L., a unique distinction for a Catholic of those days" (da Wikipedia). > Strong, "A Catalogue of English, Welsh, Scotch, and Irish History .", 1108.
