(i.e. A Cook's Shelter), the first printed Ottoman cookery book featuring 235 recipes, written by Mehmed Kamil in 1844. Some examples of Western cuisine are to be found among the recipes, as well as new vegetables, such as tomatoes and potatoes, which entered the cuisine in late 18th century.
