Full colour facsimile. = A stunning, gigantic plate by the famous bird painter and ornithologist John Gould (1804-1881), depicting a white-throated toucan, a bird from tropical South America, in particular Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia, and Brazil. This magnificent illustration was first published in Gould's famous A Monograph of the Ramphastidae, or Family of Toucans (1854). This species was named after the great French zoologist George Cuvier. This excellent reproduction is faithful to the original in every detail. An excellent, clean copy.
