Third edition, corrected, 12mo, viii, 234, [2]pp., with final advert leaf, inscribed on the title ìMrs. Watt 1808î, lacks front free endpaper, bottom outer corner of M2 missing with no loss of text, original boards, uncut, lower part of back-strip missing, otherwise a nice copy. First published in 1807, in response in part to James Beresfordís ìThe Miseries of Human Lifeî (1806), which was not itself in the form of a fictional narrative.
