First edition, dedicated to the famous mathematician Leonhard Euler (1707-1783), of an important work in the history of optics and mathematics. The book deals with the study of the behavior of light rays as they pass through lenses and other optical instruments. Klügel (1739-1812) was professor of mathematics and physics at Halle university.
