Beautiful letter to the journalist and art critic Adolphe Tabarant, congratulating him on his short-lived journal "Le Fer Rouge" and inviting him to his studio in order to talk about his new work. Lhote informs Tabarant that he has just been discharged and has returned to painting, albeit with great changes to his style that he wishes to discuss with Tabarant: "J'ai reçu avec plaisir 'le Fer Rouge' - J'ai lu, et j'applaudis. Je suis de votre - j'ajoute même, in-petto, à vos cris vengeurs, des récriminations plus violents encore. Et, réformé depuis peu, je peins à nouveau. Ma pensée est plus lucide, mon dessin plus simple, et ma couleur clarifiée. Je serais très heureux de vous montrer tout cela, et de causer avec vous à nouveau.
