Probably to the English novelist Catherine Hutton (1756-1846), seeking assistance for Christians in Asia: "I have much pleasure in complying with a request made by a person, for whom I entertain a high respect, and who albeit unknown personally, is not at all so by report, as well as by literary attainments. Will you permit me, as you express an interest in the countries where I have spent seven years of my life, to forward you a small tract in favour of the Claims of Oriental Christians to our kindly feelings and assistance [.]". - Small marginal tear, not touching text.
