Interesting letter to her French publisher Maurice Delamain of Librairie Stock to thank him for informing her of the positive reaction to her books in France and commenting on the French translation of the first two volumes of her trilogy "Kristin Lavransdatter", offering to assist with the final volume: "J'ai été bien touchée de l'aimable pensée que vous avez eue de m'écrire directement pour m'informer de l'impression que mes livres ont fait chez vous. Naturellement ça me plaît tellement, je sais bien que la publique française est très particulière quant à les [!] auteurs étrangers. Je lirai avec intérêt le [!] traduction de Christine Lavransdatter et le trouvai très bon, néanmoins, il-y-à quelques misetentes [!] là. Si les messieurs qui ont à faire les nouveaux [!] traductions voilent m'envoyer quelque sort de questionnaire des expressions qui leur font doute. Je voudrais avec plaisir donner tous les renseignements nécessaires". - Stock published the three volumes of "Kristin Lavransdatter" between 1939 and 1941. Two months after she wrote the letter, Undset fled to neutral Sweden following the German invasion of Norway.
