Trampe, Halle, 1757-1764. Folio-size loose nature printing (36.0 x 22.2 cm). Well preserved nature printing with additional hand-colouring and printed caption. = A rare, early example of nature printing. This print in very good condition. This is the starfish flower, or Stapelia "a genus of low-growing, spineless, stem succulent plants, predominantly from South Africa with a few from other parts of Africa" (Wikipedia). Some very occasional spotting, and vague toning. Top, left and bottom edges a bit wrinkled. Five tiny holes on left hand side. No creases, dents or tears present.
