Jena, Gustav Fischer, 1899. Large 4to (33.8 x 26.5 cm). [iv], 96 pp., seven tinted lithographed plates with explanatory text leaves, three text engravings. Contemporary half calf over marbled boards. Gilt title on the spine. = An uncommon contemporary bound copy of this important monograph on the macroscopic and microscopic aspects of the fishes' electric organ. The author got his specimens from the river Nile and from the Gambia. Spine much rubbed with some loss at the head and foot. Rectangular clipping in the front free endpaper, smaller, old paper clipping with repair in the title page. Otherwise a good copy. Dean I, p. 63.
