Marbled flyleaves. = Second, improved and expanded edition of this important standard work on the south German Jurassic deposits dividing it in eighteen zones, according to their petrographical development and palaeontological features, with the Lias and the brown and white Jura each resolved into six zones. Friedrich August [von] Quenstedt (1809-1889) was professor of mineralogy and geognosy at the University of Tübingen. Boards a bit rubbed, otherwise a very good clean copy.
