AN UNPUBLISHED AUTOGRAPH POEM BY GEORGES ROUAULT: A POETIC APPRAISAL OF THE WORKS OF JACQUES-LOUIS DAVID. 52 verses (divided into 11 stanzas) in neat script in black ink on two leaves on ledger paper. WITH TWO PAGES OF ROUGH DRAFTS FOR THIS POEM, heavily edited. Four leaves in all. In very good condition, with a few minor marginal tears to drafts (no loss of paper or text.) Although many artists of the School of Paris tried their hands at poetry, only Rouault succeeded. UNIQUE AND IMPORTANT.
