First edition, with the earliest state of the hook on the left hand on the vignette title-page. With engraved Illustrations by H.K. Browne throughout. 8vo, in a handsome contemporary binding of three quarter tan calf over marbled boards, the spine with gilt bands, one compartment with brown morocco label lettered in gilt. xiv, 624 pp. A very handsome copy in a proper period binding, sturdy and attractive and unusually clean and bright throughout.
