Original printed front cover bound in. = Rare early work on the palaeontology of the Jura (mountain chain between France and Zwitserland), and hence of the Jurassic period. Written by the German geologist and palaeontologist Wilhelm Heinrich Waagen (1841-1900) who also contributed to Barrande's famous Systême Silurien. Cloth cover split at front hinge, internally clean. A very good copy.
