Descripción
First edition, 8vo, [2], 17, [1]pp., 2 folding engraved plates of ìFumific Impellers [air-engines]î, disbound. Alexander Gordon, civil engineer, proposed a new form of air-engine that he colourfully called the Fumific Impeller. He insisted that air was the technological way forward, and he claimed that those who suggested that heavy machinery was necessary to harness itís power were entirely mistaken.
