Print with additional hand-written text. = A rare, ephemeral "Diplôme", commemorating the new membership of Jean Albert Marchand of the newly founded Société zoologique de France, which still exists today. With the autographed signatures of its founder and first Secrétaire, Aimé Bouvier (1844-1919) and its first Président, Jules Vian (1815-1904). Bouvier was a hunter and natural history dealer, and Vian an ornithologist and first author in the first issue of the first volume of the society's Bulletin. The large sheet is folded, with some tears along the folds, one running into printed area. The autographs, however, not affected.
