Argues government monopolization of the printing and circulation of money leads to its excessive creation, thus inflation. Proposes private businesses be allowed to issue their own currency. Perhaps Satoshi Nakamoto was spurred, in part, by this work to introduce Bitcoin to the world. It is intriguing to contemplate what Dr. Hayek would think of cryptocurrencies.
