Original blind-tooled cloth. Spine with gilt title and vignette. Original black endpapers. = Important work on the geology and especially the palaeontology of Oxfordshire with fine illustrations of fossils, including many molluscs, echinoderms, etc. The geological map and some profiles are coloured. Dedication to former owner on front flyleaf verso, another former owner's name on the frontispiece verso; a few corrections/additions, added to the index, and - also in an old hand - a long note written on the blank verso of page 523. A very good copy.
