Sm. 8vo., page-edges very lightly browning, small neat signature on inside front wrapper; original pictorial wrappers, backstrip very lightly dust-soiled else a near fine copy. First published in PC under the title 'Three Plays' in 1950; this is the first impresion thus. The cover roundel is based on a photograph of the author. Ellis-Fermor was not happy that the portrait used was the best: 'I think there are phases of Ibsen's expression which, shall we say, represent the nature of his mind better than this one'.
