Isaac Leeser (1806-1868), a distinguished author, translator, editor, and a national leader of the American Jewish community, considered himself, first and foremost, an educator. This being his first published work since arriving in America, the first English translation of a textbook on the religious instruction of Jewish children. Provenance: Ink signature of Jos.
