A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards, clear gilt lettering to slightly rubbed spine and no bumping to corners. 928pp. Revised Edition of Volume 1 of a 2 volume set detailing all known records made in the years between 1897 and 1942 in the ragtime, jazz and swing idioms, including also a number of dance records of the kind described at the time of their original issue as 'hot'. Volume 1 starts with Irving Aaronson and his Commanders and ends with Gene Kardos and his Orchestra.
