Olympischen Spiele in Berlin 1936 Cigaretten-Bilderdienst Altona-Bahrenfeld | Berlin 1936 | 23.5 x 32 cm | publisher's binding First edition of this famous photograph album featuring the propaganda of the Nationalist-Socialist regime through the Winter and Summer Olympics of 1936 organised in Hitler's Germany and glorifying, through sporting exploits, the superiority of the Aryan race (especially that of the Germans) over other peoples. Binding in full blue cloth, titles in black, titles in black repeated on the first boards, with a gilt bell stamped in the centre and a motto in black. Work illustrated with inset plates (including one folding at the end of the first volume) and around 300 photographs. A beautiful copy, complete of all its photographs, 7 of which represent, to the great displeasure of Adolf Hitler, the great winner of these Olympic games transformed into a propaganda showcase for Nazi Germany, the triple Olympic champion Jesse Owens. The photographs, patiently and innocently collected in cigarette packets, were then glued in albums in order to see them completed, thus participating in the glorification of the Hitler regime. * [FRENCH VERSION FOLLOWS] | Edition originale de ce célèbre album de photographies mettant en scène la propagande du régime national-socialiste à travers les Jeux Olympiques d'hiver et d'été de 1936 organisés dans l'Allemagne hitlérienne et exaltant, via les exploits sportifs, la supériorité de la race aryenne (notamment celle des Germains) sur les autres peuples. Reliures en pleine percaline bleue, dos lisses, titres en noir, titres en noir répétés sur les premiers plats frappés en leurs centres d'une cloche dorée et d'une devise en noir. Ouvrage illustré de planches hors-texte (dont une dépliante en fin du premier volume) et d'environ 300 photographies. Bel exemplaire compet de toutes ses photographies dont 7 représentent, au grand dam d'Adolf Hilter, le grand gagnant de ces Olympiades transformées en vitrine de propagande de l'Allemagne Nazie, le triple champion olympique Jesse Owens. Les photographies, patiemment et innocemment collectées dans les paquets de cigarettes, étaient ensuite collées dans les albums afin de les voir complétés, participant ainsi à la glorification du régime hitlérien.
