Abu-l-Faraj, Abulfaraj 897-967) was an Arab-Quraysh origin. The Book of Songs is an extensive collection of Arabic songs with much information about singers, poets, composers of the 7th to 10th centuries, as well as Arabic tribes, the Umayyads and the pre-Islamic period. So it is an important historical work.
