Original burgundy cloth with large gilt vignette on the front board and gilt title on the spine. = A fine monograph by the British zoologist, evolutionist and "Darwin's Bulldog", Thomas Henry Huxley (1825 -1895). Published in the series, Bibliothèque Scientifique Internationale, of which this is number 36. Old owner's signature on the front free endpaper, spine a bit sunned, a few marginal spots, otherwise a very good, clean copy.
