FIRST EDITION of this important late medieval verse chronicle, which celebrates the exploits of the Black Prince. Chandos, his herald, surely witnessed many of the events described. Beautifully printed on fine laid paper. Title-page in red and black. Frontispiece manuscript facsimile. 4to. In the original Roxburghe binding: quarter diced Russia and purple cloth, top edge gilt. Front cover and spine with gilt device and motto "Ich dien". Uncut. A touch of wear to head and tail of spine, else FINE AND BRIGHT. Rare.
