No wrappers. = A detailed study by the French malacologist and palaeontologist Charles Francisque "François" Fontannes, (1839-1886) dealing with the geology, stratigraphy and palaeontology of the Rhone area, and in particular Eocene, Miocene (both marine), and Pleistocene (fresh water) deposits. Included are the descriptions and fine illustrations of many new species of well-preserved molluscs. Published in the society's Annales, volume 5. A bookbinder carelessly cut the fore edge, shaving a few figures, and cutting one long, folding profile in two. Otherwise a very good, and complete copy. Rare.
