This is a very good copy nicely bound in green, pale blue and tan marbled paper-covered boards with dark green cloth spine titled in gilt. Completely clean inside and out, just one small unobtrusive handstamp of a former private owner in France to one of the front endpapers. Text in French. This is the first French edition of Croce's early collection of essays on Marx and historical materialism, published from 1895-99 in a variety of professional journals in Italy. (Title in the English edition was 'Historical materialism and the economics of Karl Marx'.) 6 essays. Bibliography. 7" high X 5" wide, 324 pages.
