Descripción
A 2 page preface and a short index to the subjects of the plates, and then 110 plates of careful drawings of not only old oak furniture, but also architectural woodwork, plasterwork, metalwork and glazing. Each plate identifies the subject of the drawing, for example:Old Oak Chest at Little Moreton Hall, or Pew framing in aisle west of nave at Astbury Church, Cheshire, and so forth. A good rebacked cloth copy with gilded titles, still bright, and nice bevelled green cloth boards, inside many plates are soiled, mostly in the margins, there are a few handstamps inside the front and back covers. The stamps are from "Schmeig & Kotzian", the famous furniture makers in New York in the first half of the 20th century, so this copy probably came from their studio. Large folio, 15" high X 11" wide. Large heavy book, foreign shipping will be extra. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
