Publisher's pictorial cloth. = A seldom-seen work on the baleen whales of the seas adjacent to Russia (i.e., Polar Sea, Northern Pacific, Sea of Japan, Baltic Sea, Black Sea). In Russian. The frontispiece is a photo of the Russian mammalogist Vladimir Georgievich Geptner [Heptner] (1901-1975). An English translation was published in 2006, but this is the rare original edition. A few library marks on the boards and lower margin of the title page, otherwise very good, clean.
