First and only edition of the FIRST BOOK ILLUSTRATED WITH ORIGINAL PRINTS BY LABOUREUR, and the FIRST CATALOGUE RAISONNE OF THE PRINTS OF LABOUREUR. 85 pp. 171 items described. Illustrated with SIX ORIGINAL PRINTS: "Portrait de l'artiste" (full-page hors-texte woodcut, 1907, Sylvain Laboureur vol. I, no. 639); Le soir dans Chelsea (full-page hors-texte lithograph, 1909, Sylvain Laboureur vol. I, no. 772); three smaller woodcuts executed for this book ("Le port de Nantes", "Le port de Croisic", and "Fips, le chien de la famille Laboureur", Sylvain Laboureur vol. II, no. 640); and a tailpiece, "Vignette américaine: Vase garni d'une rose" (woodcut, 1904, Sylvain Laboureur vol. II, no. V. 19, p. 443). There are also two full-page hors-texte reproductions of prints. From a total edition of 140 numbered copies, this is ONE OF 130 COPIES PRINTED ON FINE DUTCH LAID PAPER WITH THE AUTHOR'S MONOGRAM STAMP IN THE JUSTIFICATION. Large 12mo. Original wraps. An old newspaper clipping (with a reproduction of a print by Laboureur) has darkened the two adjacent pages, but otherwise UNCUT, FINE AND BRIGHT, WITH THE ORIGINAL PRINTS IN PERFECT CONDITION. A pristine copy of a rare and important book.
