Descripción
A TYPOGRAPHICAL MASTERPIECE. First and only edition of this collection of poems and fragments by Ronsard, many of which had never before been printed. Also includes the FIRST PRINTING of Guillaume Colletet's extensive account of Ronsard's life, written shortly after the poet's death. From a total edition of 225 copies, this is ONE OF ONLY 25 COPIES PRINTED IN LARGE FOLIO FORMAT (40 cm--the rest of the edition was printed 8vo). Beautifully printed on extremely fine, thick laid paper. Laumonier (pp. 78-80) devotes a long and well-annotated article to this publication, specifying exactly what had and what hadn't previously appeared in print. Attractively bound in recent marbled boards. Uncut. Original front wrapper bound in. FINE AND BRIGHT WITH NO DEFECTS. Large-paper copies of this important publication are of the greatest rarity. Brunet IV, 1377; Vicaire VII, 889.
