Later wrappers. = Well-illustrated paper with a large illustration of the whole animal by Joseph Wolf, and fine illustrations of the anatomy and the young animals by Richard Owen himself. This is te short-beaked echidna, now known as Tachyglossus aculeatus, an egg lying mammal from Australia. Publised in the Society's Zoological Transactions. Uncut, with wide margins. Plate extreme edges a bit age-toned and the imprint of a paper clip in the top margin of two plates, otherwise a good clean copy. Rare.
