Descripción

Ecke beston. Einband leicht berieben. Geschenk fr Walter Ehrenstein. - In parts I and II of the book, facts and laws relating to visual perception will be described, and their relations to the neurophysio-logical processes will be considered as well. On the relationship between mind and body, or consciousness and matter, there has been much discussion from times past, but for all the controversies and attempts at solution, there has been no agreement reached to satisfy all the parties concerned. One of the most important theories concerning the relation between mind and body is offered by Gestalt psychology. This theory assumes that Gestalt principles govern the processes of matter as well as that of consciousness, and it considers the former in terms of the latter. In other words, it claims a parallelism between consciousness and matter with respect to the Gestalt principles. This is a variation of isomorphism, and the most important contribution of Gestalt psychology consists in this concept.
