London, the Entomological Society of London, 1926-1931. Five volumes in three. Large 8vo. Numerous pages and several plates, of which one in full colour. Uniform gilt-bordered half morocco over light-blue buckram boards. Spines with five raised bands, gilt-bordered compartments title, and year. Marbled endpapers. Top-edges gilt. = A very nicely bound set of the start of this journal. In 1926 it was decided to split the "Transactions and Proceedings" in two separate series. The scientific contributions in these five volumes are mostly on butterflies, as reflected by the fact that nearly all the plates show Macrolepidoptera. A very good, attractive set.
