Original printed wrappers. = A rarely seen work on by the Luxembourgian mathematician and poet, Antoine Meyer, also known as Antun or Tun Meyer (1801-1857). In the present work, Meyer proposed to represent the sinus by the letter C, and the cosinus by a mirrored (backward, reversed) C. Meyer was "Sometimes referred to as the father of Luxembourgish literature, he is remembered for publishing the very first book in Luxembourgish, a collection of six poems entitled 'E' Schrek ob de' lezeburger Parnassus' (A Step up the Luxembourg Parnassus)"(Wikipedia). Uncut. Inscribed by Emile Bertrand, dated 1919, on the front free endpaper verso. Wrappers and edges soiled, some light spotting, otherwise a very good, clean copy.
