Edition limited to 300 copies, of which THIS IS ONE OF ONLY 20 LARGE-PAPER COPIES PRINTED WITH LARGE MARGINS ON FINE DUTCH LAID PAPER ("Hollande"). Illustrated with an etched frontispiece portrait by Bracquemond and SIX PREVIOUSLY UNPUBLISHED ETCHINGS BY RAFFET, all printed on chine appliqué (only large-paper copies have six etchings; other copies have only three.) ALL OF RAFFET'S FIRST THREE ETCHINGS ARE HERE (cat. I-III). Engraved armorial bookplate. 4to. Elegantly bound, c. 1900, in half morocco and marbled boards. Original wraps and backstrip bound in. Uncut. Top edge gilt, other edges uncut. Just a tiny wisp of wear to binding, else FINE AND BRIGHT. An outstanding copy of a very scarce book, the definitive reference on Raffet's prints.
