Descripción
This is a fine hardcover copy without dust jacket as issued. SIGNED by Eliza Brownjohn and playfully indscribed to a friend, on the title-page just underneath the title, and above her printed name. This is the authoriative monograph on the graphic design work of Robert Brownjohn (1925- 1970). Brownjohn studied with Laszlo Moholy-Nagy in Chicago at the Institute of Design in the 1950's. He became Moholy-Nagy's protege and later was offered a teaching position by L.M.N.'s successor the architect Serge Chermayeff. He moved to New York in 1950 and set up a design firm with Ivan Chermayeff (Serge's son). Most everyone will have seen Brownjohn's work in the titles and oprening graphic sequences of the James Bond films 'From Russia with Love' and 'Goldfinger'. Scarce especially signed. 9" high X 8" wide, 239 pages. Heavy book, foreign shipping will be extra. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.
