Original printed front wrapper (to the issue containing the second paper). = Among the very last papers written by Charles Darwin and read before his death on April 9th 1882 is one of two botanical and biochemical contributions, published consecutively in the Journal of the Linnean Society - Botany, volume XIX. Both deal with the effect of fertilisers upon plant growth. The first being read by his son Francis on the 16th of March and published on June 26th in Part 120. This was followed in the next issue (Part 121, read by Francis Darwin already on the 6th of March, but not published until August, 28th). Some mild toning and spotting, mainly in the blank margins, otherwise very good, complete. Freeman, 1800-1801.
