Descripción
Appears unread. No marks or inscriptions. No creasing to covers. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards and no bumping to corners. 406pppp. A description of the British Army as it was in 1942. Compiled for US officers this British Army catalogue is of great importance as it shows how the British had reorganised their armed forces (Army and Air Force) not only to defend the UK against a possible German invasion, but also to fight the Germans in North Africa and the Japanese in the Far East. It was still not the formidable army of 1944, but this book shows how it was developing and how it was organised and equipped. The book is handsomely illustrated with contemporary photographs as well as a number of first-class line drawings. Three fold-out charts at the rear. It serves as a valuable counterpart to our German Armed Forces pamphlet for 1943, giving a valuable comparison between the two armies. Scarce.
