Sm. 8vo., First Edition thus, on India Paper, with a frontispiece in photogravure (original tissue guard present), title in red and black, small neat contemporary signature on front free endpaper, front endpapers and half-title lightly browned; original series binding of leaf-green buckram, upper board with gilt hearts at corners (blind hearts on lower board), gilt back, gilt top, uncut, green silk marker, a very good, clean copy. This delightful edition is published in Methuen's 'Little Library'. A 4pp prospectus of the series, with introduction by Frederic Harrison and specimen page from 'Vanity Fair', is bound in at end. Scarce.
