In-8°, legatura in piena pelle, pp. 2 bianche, viii(2)-558, 2 bianche. Con 10 tavole incise fuori testo, sei incisioni nel testo e 4 cartine di cui tre ripiegate. Bellissima legatura firmata 'Zaehnsdorf 1906', in pieno marocchino azzurro, con titoli e data in oro sul dorso a cinque nervi, e ricchi fregi in oro a dentelles alle unghiature; piatto anteriore della tela della legatura originale applicato ad un margine del primo foglio di guardia. Edizione originale di questa importante opera sulle Alpi Pennine. Allegata una bella lettera di invio, autografa e firmata, datata 'June 5-06', del letterato e giornalista inglese Sir Edward Tyas Cook (1857 - 1919). Ottimo esemplare in splendida legatura.
