Sixth edition, 8vo, ix, [1], 198 + 8pp., of adverts, coloured frontispiece frontispiece made by pasted on triangular colour chips over an engraved base, some light occasional staining or browning to text, orig. publishers brown embossed cloth. The colored diagrams have now been reduced to one, ìyet that one contains all the colours of which the various diagrams in the former editions were composed, more correctly balanced as to their relative powers, and more permanently secured against change. I have re-written the whole treatise, and have expunged all extraneous matter in order to make room for additions more intimately connected with the subject.îóPreface.
