First Edition. RARE PRESENTATION COPY from the author. With six full-page illustrations by Phiz (Hablot K. Browne especially famous for his illustrations to Dickens' novels) and four pages of music. 8vo, handsomely bound in polished mottled calf and signed Riviere and Son, the covers with triple gilt rules at the borders, the spine with raised bands separating the compartments which are fully gilt decorated, red morocco lettering piece gilt, elaborate gilt rolled turnovers, all edges gilt. [iv], 12 + illustrated plates, with the half-title pp. A fine presentation copy, the text and music and illustrations all in good order, front cover detached, easily repaired if required, otherwise a very handsome copy.
