About the book:-This is one of the first (and still one of the few) comprehensive books about the Sikh religion in the English language. The author had extensive access to manuscripts of the Sikh sacred writings (the Granth), as well as support from Sikh scholars and leaders of the time. This is also a monumental work on the Sikh Religion, firstever published in 1909. The purpose of the author was to introduce the lofty ideals of the Gurus to the western world in their true spirit. Hence, he translated the Sikh Scripture into English with the help of the renowned Sikh scholars of the times including Bhai Khan Singh Nabha. After his retirement, he developed a close affinity with Sikhism while in the Punjab, eventually converting to the religion. His translation into English of the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of Sikhism, is recognised as the most accurate to date. Following this project, he set to work on this six-volume set, covering the history and philosophy of Sikhism, first published in 1909 and still regarded as the definitive work on the subject. A complete account of the ten Sikh gurus' lives and almost all of the Sikh scripture in accurate beautiful Translation. Every Sikh should have this set, every serious student of Yogi Bhajan's teachings should read these books. The book is in six volumes, covers the lives of the Hindu and Muslim saints whose compositions are included in the Sikh holy book. Translations of these compositions are also provided.
